The company has been through the environmental trenches since 1996; it has evolved with the on-going complexity that environmental issues bring to a development project. The company was previously named Melius & Hockenberry Environmental Services, Inc. and effective October 2009 the company was renamed J Hockenberry Environmental Services, Inc. (JHES).
